This is a new start for me. I’ve been blogging on and off for about five years now and worked my way through several different blogs before abandoning each one for what probably amounts to the same reason : I didn’t feel good enough. With each of my blogs I was, for the most part, subconsciously attempting to mimic other bloggers. I wanted to be like those quirky lifestyle bloggers I admired. But all it did was make me miserable, make me feel like my own life wasn’t interesting enough, like I wasn’t pretty enough or weird enough or whatever. But the thing is, I like blogging. I love sharing my interests and passions with like minded strangers on the internet. So this blog is my attempt to blog for myself, for people like me. I’m not going to catagorize myself or my blog, I’m not going to compare myself to other bloggers, I’m simply going to be me.
What does that mean for this blog? Well, I’m not entirely certain. I imagine you’ll find lots of book reviews on here, maybe some film reviews. There’ll be posts about the process of writing a novel – something which I’m attempting to do. There will more than likely be photos of my cats (I have two fur babies) and a lot of general geekery.
Oh and the name of my blog? Well it comes from the title of one of my favourite Sylvia Plath poems, which probably tells you more about me than I could do in any other way.
